Here Comes February!

January has been a good month for hibernating and sewing!

Hopefully the groundhog will predict an early spring, after all this snow! Lots of opportunities to get out and take a class in February at The Country Quilter!

Jane is offering a Thread Painting class Feb. 4 & 18.  10-1. This is a good time to learn the tricks and techniques to embellish your work, especially landscapes. Jane will also help you set your machine for using different kinds of threads.

Beginner Quilting starts January 31 for six classes. This class is a good review to catch up on the latest techniques. You should have your project finished in the six classes.

The regular monthly classes continue.  New members are welcome to join these groups.

Smile Quilts: This group makes quilts to donate to shelters and Youville Centre. Just bring your machine and donate your time to help with this project. Fabrics are provided. Feb 11, 9:30-2.

Knotty Girls: Feb 12, 9:30-11:30. A wide variety of stitching is covered in the class. The new project is a year of snowmen. Patterns available in class.

Woolies :  Feb 19,  10-12. This is a Wool  Applique group. Come and share ideas and patterns. Lots to motivate you.

Landscape: Feb. 26, 10-1. “Photo to fabric” Learn to reproduce your memories on fabric.

Don’t forget that Fiona is hard at work quilting on the long arm upstairs. Let her quilt for you. This is a good way to get some of those tops completed. She is here to meet customers on Tuesdays. It is best to make an appointment.
Phone 613-838-5541.

Don’t forget to bring slippers when you come for a class.
See you in February!

Ann
