February’s Workshops:
Beginner Quilting Class: A class is being offered starting Saturday, January 31st, 10-12pm for 6 classes. This class is a good introduction/review/refresher to learn or catch up on the latest techniques. You should have your project finished in the six classes.
Thread Painting Class: Wednesdays, February 4th and 18th. Jane will introduce you to this amazing artistic technique. This is a great time to learn the tricks and techniques to embellish your work, especially landscapes. Jane will help you set your machine for using different kinds of threads as well.
February’s On-going Monthly Clubs:
Finishing School: Every Tuesday, from 9:30-1pm. It is a time to work on your projects along with others. Lots of advice and encouragement are provided! No need to sign up, just come along and join the group.
Knotty Girls! Feb 12, 9:30-11:30. A wide variety of stitching is covered in the class. The new project is ‘A Year of Snowmen’. Patterns are available in class.
Smile Quilts: Feb 11, 9:30 -2:00. This group makes quilts to donate to shelters and the Youville Centre. Just bring your machine and donate your time to help with this project. Fabric is provided.
Wool Applique Club! Feb 19, 10-12. Bring along your projects and see what others have done!! Motivation guaranteed!
Landscape: Feb 26, 10-1. ‘Photo to fabric’. Many techniques are covered as you learn to reproduce your memories onto fabric.
***Don’t forget that Fiona is hard at work quilting on the long arm machine upstairs. Let her quilt for you! This is a great way to get some of those quilt tops done. She is here to meet customers on Tuesdays. It is best to make an appointment. Call 613 838-5541.***
